Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems necessary to extend and boost Relations between Ukraine and the People´s Republic of China in all the Fields, providing for a Qualitatively New Level of Cooperation
Meeting Mr. Zhengsheng Yu, Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, on Monday, V.Lytvyn stated that "despite the distance, Ukraine considers the China as a close and friendly State, understanding its great past, present and future". "I am convinced that our relations have great prospects, - stated the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament. Ukraine is willing to provide for a new quality of our relations, especially, their inter-parliamentary constituent".
V.Lytvyn expressed his hopes that the visit of the Chinese delegation would give incentive to the development of bilateral cooperation. V.Lytvyn availed himself of the opportunity and congratulated the Chinese delegation on the 60th anniversary of foundation of the Chinese People´s Republic to be celebrated on 1 October.
According to V.Lytvyn, the cooperation in the fields of education, science, innovation technologies and the environment are the priorities of the bilateral relations.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the China demonstrated how considerable economic results could be attained even in the period of recession, which testified of "the stability and efficiency of the political and economic system" of the People´s Republic of China, and was the result of "coordinated actions and people´s unity in the implementation of great tasks". He is convinced that Ukraine must use the China´s experience, as "it builds its life according to the positive scenarios of development". "We are in need of a coherent organization of life to be publicly supported and understood", - he stressed. "Your present-day task is to increase the welfare of the people, which is also a topical matter for Ukraine, - he added. Ukraine needs modernization and investments, as well as a psychological reorientation for science, technologies and innovations".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also stated that "the development in accordance with the traditional approaches had no future, as the events confirmed that neoconservative and neoliberal approaches failed". Therefore, importance of the State shall be enhanced. V.Lytvyn is convinced that the significance and responsibility of great States, such as China, will further increase. "Ukraine occupies a certain position in Europe and must act as a responsible and important partner in the relations with China", - he stated.
In his turn, the Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee highly appraised the level of Ukrainian-Chinese relations, commenting upon the success in the political, inter-parliamentary, economic and military fields.
He believes that Ukraine will successfully present its achievements at the global exhibition "Expo-2010" in Shanghai.
